Concert: Hafez Kotain and Ensemble

Enjoy popular classics, folk songs, and traditional muwashshahah from Egypt, Iraq, Lebanon, and Syria performed by this nine-member ensemble. The program features music from Hafez Kotain’s first CD, released in July with a gala concert in Philadelphia. Led by vocalist and percussionist Hafez Kotain, the ensemble includes violinist Gabriel Dahrie, keyboardist Sam Younes, guitarist Carlo Fakhoury, George Maamari on buzuq (lute), and percussionists Bashir Dahrieh, Joseph Ibrahim, and Ryan Tabshi on dumbek and other drums.
